    Simply Organic® Sweet Basil Pesto seasoning and sauce mix is a quick and delicious blend that brings the savory flavors of basil, garlic and black pepper to pasta and breads. Used as a dip, sauce or spread, Sweet Basil Pesto adds rich, authentic flavor to your Italian fare.

    Organic Cornstarch, Organic Basil, Sea Salt, Organic Garlic, Organic Onion, Organic Cane Sugar, Organic Tomato, Organic Black Pepper, Organic Parsley, Cream Of Tartar, Organic Fennel.

    Directions

    1. In a saucepan, mix packet contents with 1/4 cup olive oil and 1/2 cup water, stirring until completely dissolved. Cook over medium-high heat, stirring constantly.
    2. Once pesto comes to a boil, immediately remove from heat.
    3. Add pesto to freshly prepared pasta (8 ounces dry). Stir in 1/3 cup grated Parmesan cheese.

    Suggested Uses

    • For a creamy pesto, add 4 oz. Neufchatel cheese.
    • Use as a sauce for pizza.
    • Mix 1/2 cup olive oil and 1/4 cup vinegar to make a pesto dressing for a tomato salad.
    • For a vegan version, omit Parmesan cheese and add 1/4 cup of your favorite nut butter. 
    • For Basil Pesto Bruschetta: Lightly butter French bread slices. Broil until lightly golden. Top with thinly sliced tomatoes & cheese; sprinkle packet contents on top. Broil 3-5 minutes more.
