Norway, Iowa (April 15, 2014) — Simply Organic has released the first commercially available organic, non-alcoholic vanilla flavoring.

"We recognize the importance of having a high-quality, non-alcoholic option for vanilla flavoring," said Ellen Bouchard, Simply Organic Senior Brand Manager. "Derived from organically grown Madagascar vanilla beans, the flavor profile is rich, fruity, sweetness-enhancing without the added alcohol."

Simply Organic's organic, non-alcoholic vanilla flavoring can be used as a one-for-one equivalent to vanilla extract. The flavoring contains less than 0.5% alcohol by volume.

Vegan and naturally gluten-free, the latest vanilla flavoring is part of a wide selection of Simply Organic vanillas sourced from farmers in Madagascar who are part of the co-ops Well Earth sustainable sourcing program.

Funds from Well Earth as well as Simply Organic's one-percent fund – in which one-percent of Simply Organic's net sales are used to support organic agriculture – were recently used to construct 49 wells in 38 farming vanilla bean farming villages in Madagascar. This project has brought clean water to more than 25,000 people in the area.

"With easy access to clean water, the farmers can increase their income by more efficiently and effectively processing the premium-quality vanilla beans we source from them," said Bouchard.

The new Simply Organic non-alcoholic vanilla flavoring is now available in stores.
