Eden's Downfall Apple Cider Drink
This sinfully delicious autumn drink features Simply Organic® mulling spice and black walnut bitters. Serve as a hot toddy or a cold cocktail.
1 1/2 ounces Amaretto Di Sarrono
3/4 ounce V.S.O.P. brandy
4 1/2 ounces organic apple cider, locally-produced if available
2 dash Fee Brothers® Black Walnut bitters
1 teaspoon Simply Organic Mulling Spice
1 cinnamon stick
To serve as a cocktail:
1. Place all ingredients in a shaker and fill with ice. Seal and shake vigorously for 10 seconds. Strain into a chilled cocktail glass and garnish with the cinnamon stick. Serve immediately.
Note: This recipe multiplies well to make large batches. Multiply the above ingredients by four or eight and stir in a pitcher with ice, rather than use the shaker.
To serve as a hot toddy:
1. In a microwave-safe mug or small bowl, combine the cider, bitters, Simply Organic® mulling spice, and heat to just-less-than-boiling (depending on your microwave, around 45-60 seconds). Remove and transfer to serving mug, add amaretto and brandy, stir with cinnamon stick and serve immediately.
Note: To make a large batch, multiply the above ingredients by four or eight. When making large amounts, you may wish to warm the ingredients in a saucepan on the stovetop, stir all the amaretto and brandy into that saucepan, then portion out into serving mugs. It's also delicious without the alcohol, simply omit if desired.
