Flaky holiday puff pastries with an inner layer of cranberry warmly spiced with vanilla and cinnamon, cut into your favorite holiday shapes. Whether you make them for a brunch, snack or light dessert, these festive cranberry puff pastries are sure to impress at your holiday gathering!

  1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a medium saucepan, combine cranberries, sugar, orange juice and zest, vanilla and cinnamon. Bring to a boil, then reduce the heat to low and simmer for 10 to 12 minutes, until thickened. Remove from heat and let cool completely.
  3. Roll out each sheet of puff pastry into about a 12-x-12-inch square. Spread cooled cranberry filling across top of one sheet of puff pastry, out to the edges. Place the other sheet of puff pastry on top.
  4. Cut out as many shapes as you can using cookie cutters, and transfer to a baking sheet.
  5. In a small bowl, whisk together egg yolk and water, then brush onto tops of cutouts lightly.
  6. Bake for 18 to 20 minutes, until golden brown. Let cool slightly, then dust with powdered sugar before serving.
