
Biscuits and Gravy Casserole

A brunch casserole recipe that comes together in just a few minutes and creates a perfect hearty breakfast for cool fall mornings and holidays. The sausage gravy can even be prepared ahead of time – just increase the baking time a bit to account for the refrigerator chill.

Ingredients
- 1 pound ground pork sausage
- 1 packet Simply Organic® Brown Gravy Mix
- 2 1/2 cups whole milk
- Simply Organic® Black Pepper, to taste
- 1 1/2 cups shredded white cheddar cheese
- 12 biscuits
- 2 tablespoons melted butter
Directions
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
- In a large skillet, brown sausage for about 5 minutes, until no longer pink.
- Sprinkle gravy mix over sausage in skillet and stir until well coated. Add milk and stir well, scraping any browned bits off bottom of pan.
- Add black pepper. Bring to a simmer and cook for 3 to 4 minutes, until gravy thickens. Stir in cheese until melted, then remove from heat.
- Transfer gravy to a 9-x-13-inch baking dish. Place biscuits on top and brush tops with butter.
- Bake for 25 minutes, then cover with aluminum foil and bake for 10 minutes more. Remove from oven and enjoy warm.
