Spice up your afternoon snack with these simple but flavorful (and fun!) apple nachos. You can customize the toppings as you’d like — chocolate chips or melted chocolate are both great options. Other topping ideas include dried cranberries, chopped nuts or slivered almonds, or hemp or chia seeds.

  1. In a medium bowl, add nut butter and coconut oil and heat in microwave for 15 to 30 seconds, until coconut oil is melted, or warm in a double boiler on the stove. Add cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg and cloves, and stir to combine.
  2. In a large bowl, toss apple slices with lemon juice until well coated. Arrange apples on a large plate or platter. Drizzle with spiced nut butter, then top with chocolate chips and coconut. Enjoy right away.
RECIPE TIPS
  1. Sunflower seed butter can be used in place of the nut butter.
  2. If using a smaller variety of apples, use 4 to 6 apples.
