Ingredients

FOR THE MEATBALLS:
1 pound ground turkey
1 tablespoon soy sauce
½ teaspoon Simply Organic® Ginger
¼ teaspoon Simply Organic® Garlic Powder
1 egg, beaten
½ cup regular or gluten-free breadcrumbs
FOR THE TERIYAKI SAUCE:
1 cup water, divided
1 packet Simply Organic® Teriyaki Marinade Mix
1 tablespoon of agave nectar
2 tablespoons cornstarch
FOR THE GARNISH:
Green onions, sliced or chopped
Simply Organic Sesame Seeds
Directions
- Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
- In a medium bowl, add turkey, soy sauce, ginger, garlic powder, egg and breadcrumbs; mix with a sturdy spoon until thoroughly combined.
- Roll meat mixture into balls approximately 1 inch in diameter.
- Place a metal rack on a sheet pan and place meatballs on rack. This makes crisper meatballs than baking them on the pan surface.
- Bake for 10 to 12 minutes, until meatballs reach an internal temperature of 165 degrees.
- In a saucepan over medium heat, combine ¾ cup water, Teriyaki Marinade Mix and agave nectar.
- In a small bowl, add remaining ¼ cup water and 2 tablespoons cornstarch, and mix until smooth.
- Increase heat to medium-high, pour cornstarch mixture into saucepan, bring to a boil and whisk for 2 to 5 minutes, until teriyaki sauce reaches desired thickness.
- To finish the dish: Add meatballs to sauce and toss to warm and coat well. Transfer to serving dish, and top with green onions and sesame seeds. For an appetizer, serve with a toothpick in each meatball.
