NOFA/Mass
The Northeast Organic Farming Association (NOFA)/Massachusetts Chapter is committed to developing and supporting the next generation of organic farmers in Massachusetts. Founded in 1982, NOFA/Mass is an established resource for both current growers and for the education and promotion of organic, sustainable agriculture for future generations.
They offer educational resources that include summer and winter conferences, monthly webinars, and a myriad of on-farm educational events each year for current and future farmers. (The 2017 NOFA/Mass Winter Conference has hands-on workshops for kids 3 to 17 that include everything from making collages of seeds and plant materials to learning about beekeeping and raising milk goats.)
The Simply Organic Giving Fund is a regular contributor to NOFA/Mass. This year's $5,000 donation supports scholarships for conference participants, helps with workshop and webinar expenses, and supports the Beginning Farmer mentorship program.
