Dream Deliveries Expansion 

Dion’s Chicago Dream (DCD) works to combat food insecurity in the Chicagoland area, using nutritional philanthropy as a catalyst to build community and transform lives.

This includes Dream Deliveries, a direct-to-consumer fresh produce service that addresses socio -economic barriers to accessing nutritious foods. The program delivers a five-day supply of pre-measured fruits and vegetables directly to the doorsteps of 1,600 Chicago families each week, fighting food insecurity and reducing food waste in the process.

15% of the total distribution comes from Dream Vaults, which provide an accessible and convenient pickup option in communities with high levels of food insecurity. Each vault makes healthy foods accessible for 175 households within a two-mile radius, with two vaults operating five days per week. DCD has also partnered with health systems to help fill and deliver “produce prescriptions” through its Dream Deliveries system.

Dion’s Chicago Dream will receive a $50,000 grant from Simply Organic® in 2025-2026 to continue its mission of making nutritious foods accessible for families in the Chicagoland area.
