Tomato Basil Cheese Biscuits

1 cup flour plus 1/2 cup reserve
1 tablespoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon cream of tartar
1 package Simply Organic Tomato Basil Spaghetti Sauce Mix
1/2 cup shortening
3/4 cup shredded cheddar cheese
1/2 cup milk
Preheat oven to 400 degrees.

In a large mixing bowl, combine flour, baking powder, cream of tartar and Tomato Basil Spaghetti Sauce Mix. Cut shortening and cheese into mixture. Add milk and stir with large spoon or spatula, forming a ball.

Place half of reserved flour on a clean surface. Take the other half and roll dough in it. Place dough on floured surface and roll out to 3/4-inch thick. Cut dough into round biscuit shapes and place on ungreased cookie sheet. Bake for 10 to 13 minutes.
