Chicken Breasts Alfredo
Chicken in a creamy, cheesy sauce is delicious and comforting. Alfredo is a creamy sauce made with lots of cream and cheese. It is typically served with pasta, but is delicious served over some crisp and moist chicken breasts.
Ingredients
1/2 cup dried bread crumbs
1 teaspoon dried oregano
1 teaspoon dried basil
1 teaspoon dried thyme
1/4 cup flour, divided
1/4 teaspoon pepper
1 egg
1/4 cup buttermilk
6 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
1 onion, chopped
3 cloves garlic, minced
1 package (8 ounces) sliced mushrooms
2 tablespoons olive oil
1 teaspoon dried Italian seasoning
1 cup light cream or milk
1 package (3 ounces) cream cheese
2 tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese
1 teaspoon dried oregano
1 teaspoon dried basil
1 teaspoon dried thyme

1 package (3 ounces) cream cheese
2 tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese
Directions
Preheat oven to 350°F.
On plate, combine bread crumbs, oregano, basil, thyme, 3 tablespoons flour, and pepper.
In bowl, beat egg with buttermilk. Dip chicken into egg mixture, then into bread crumb mixture. Place chicken on baking pan; bake 20 to 30 minutes.
Cook onion, garlic, and mushrooms in oil. Add Italian seasoning and 1 tablespoon flour; cook 3 minutes. Add cream or milk, cream cheese, and Parmesan; cook until thick. Serve sauce with chicken.

Chef Suggestions
If chicken breasts are thicker than 1 inch, pound them so they cook evenly.
