Food Allergen Labeling and Consumer Production Act

This new standard is a continuation of the implementation of the Food Allergen Labeling and Consumer Production Act (FALCPA). The proposed rule allows for maximum gluten levels of 20 ppm per serving. The proposed FDA standard uses the same gluten levels established by Canada, the European Union and the World Health Organization. The final publication of the rule is set for August 2008.
